Superior for String Orchestra!

The AHS String Orchestra received an overall Superior rating at the CMEA Orchestra festival in Livermore this past weekend.
For the first time in school history, all of the instrumental music groups received superior ratings at CMEA events in a single year. It is rare to have a school be succesful in all of the various areas, but more so with multiple groups in each category.

CMEA stands for California Music Education Association, and is made up of music teachers at all levels from elementary through college. Students attend festivals (Jazz, Band, Orchestra and Solo/Chamber music) throughout the year, and are judged with a state standardized rubric by top level educators.
I commend all the students for a job well done this year.
